2 days later without using my hands and there were already 2 chips in the polish. What did was when I asked that she make sure to get the sides (after noticing that she was leaving a little strip) and she replied, "I know" and then continuing to leave the edges of my nails unpainted which makes them look 3 or 4 days older than they are.She was really harsh on my cuticles (I bled and she had put so much nail polish remover and let it sit there that it started to burn my nail bed). The cherry on top was that it cost me $15! I was expecting $8-10. The woman that worked on me barely spoke any English, but that didn't bother me. I wish they had let me know so I could have gotten a massage next door. I ended up waiting for 20 or 30 minutes before someone came over to start on me. The man sitting and doing some nails on the left said they could do a manicure and had me sit at table 6 on the right. My nails were a wreck! Cracked cuticles, splitting nails, dry, the whole shebang that comes with using your hands a ton and getting dirty. I decided to pop in here for a manicure to relax a little after moving the majority of my stuff into my new home in August. If you don't want to do solar nails you shouldn't advertise for it. The overall shape was not like the picture I had showed him. It took him over 2 hours to do my nails and by the time I was finished I didn't have time to get my toes done. I had requested if he could leave the powder thick because my nails break easily and he replied "No, they will never break." He was very rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate about what I had requested. He told me it would be $45 to do solar as if I would change my mind and get something else. He made several comments about how long it takes to do solar and how he hasn't done it in 10 years. I told him I wanted a solar fill with pink and white and it was apparent that he didn't like to do solar. There was a gentleman whom arrived 30 minutes later and he didn't start on my nails until almost an hour later. I asked how long it would be and she said 5 minutes. There was only one technician there and she was assisting another lady. I arrived not too long after they opened. I stopped into this nail salon for the first time for a fill and polish change on my toes. The USB 2.0 version of the Saffire 6 DOES NOT require a driver on Mac. The key argument for the M3 MacBook Pro might be that it’s here now, and March is still some time away. If you want a snappy laptop running macOS, you can’t go wrong with the standard 13-inch MacBook Air. If you want a larger screen than the standard 13-inch, the 15-inch MacBook Air will be the best option. If you want to spend more money on more power, the M3 Pro and M3 Max MacBook Pro models are the best choice. The extra real estate will be welcomed, but a 15-inch version of the M2 MacBook Air, and Apple is expected to release a 15-inch M3 MacBook Air in March alongside the consumer favourite 13-inch model. A 14-inch screen has replaced the 13-inch screen. Perhaps the only notable change is Apple moving this MacBook Pro towards the same design language as the more powerful MacBook Pro. Historically, this has been around 15 to 20 percent above the baseline Air, and the baseline M3 will have significantly more potential than the M1 and M2. Undoubtedly, the M3 MacBook Pro will offer more performance than the M3 MacBook Air. Putting aside the ridiculous notion that 8 GB of RAM is acceptable in a laptop costing $1,599, the effective entry-level model is $1,799. It’s hard to recommend the M3 MacBook Pro knowing what is coming. It will remain that way until late March 2024, when the M3 technology will reach the MacBook Air. Apple’s decision to launch only “Pro” models during Q4 of 2023 means that the low-powered M3 MacBook Pro is the entry-level MacBook for the new chipset. With the launch of the M2, Apple continued with its awkward low-end MacBook Pro, now made even more awkward due to the increased performance of the M2 chipset. The answer for everyone else-and the vast majority of consumers-was the capable MacBook Air. Perhaps that made sense for a few months, but once the M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro laptops arrived, there was a simple answer if you needed professional power. The slight performance uplift achieved by the MacBook Pro-which was little more than an M1 MacBook Air with a cooling fan-came with a significant price premium. The MacBook Air was more than enough MacBook for consumers. Yet the increased performance, endurance, and potential of the M1 meant that the M1 MacBook Air vastly outperformed even high-end Intel chipsets. In terms of selling the change from Intel-based to ARM-based silicon, keeping the same portfolio made marketing sense. When Tim Cook and his team debuted the M1 Apple Silicon chipset for Mac, it did so with a MacBook Air, macMini, and MacBook Pro. In GTA 5, you can find a secret in the prologue by exploring the nearby frozen river to locate an alien. Those moments of being 'lost' or randomly exploring resulted in me finding secrets or storytelling moments embedded in the environment, which is something I'd love to see continue in GTA 6. I loved exploring different rural parts of the GTA 5 map, though sometimes this was a result of crashing vehicles far away from inhabited places. More Secrets and storytelling hidden in the environment Just no live-action hostess clubs please. Sports-wise, Rockstar could look to the teams Miami is known for in the real-world, such as the NBA's Miami Heat or the NFL's Miami Dolphins. The wackiness of some of Yakuza / Like A Dragon's mini-games has got me thinking - what could GTA 6 include that's a little more offbeat? Jet skiing on a dolphin may be a little too wacky for GTA, but how about a karaoke offering? Or a GTA version of Mario Kart? But there's definitely scope for a range of new mini-games in the Miami-set GTA 6, after previous games in the series let you play tennis, darts, and - of course - gamble in the casino. Is Florida up to it? I hope so.įancy a game of bowling? Maybe not. This - the movement from busy to empty - is where a game starts to feel alive, if you ask me. And then you can whisk yourself away and be in the middle of nowhere, with nobody nearby, no planned "content", no markers flashing away to organise your experience. What I love about space in a game is that you can spend a lot of time around lots of action - lots of roads, buildings, cars and people, lots of gunfights, icons on the map, lots of mission objectives. Sure, it's Southern California and Southern California is almost all in-betweenness, but I think they were onto something regardless, and I want more of it. And I really think space was the major differentiator there in terms of how the games turned out. This is one of our favourite DF videos - a timelapse of GTA 4.Ĭrackdown had space. Space that tells you that you're moving from one area, and one way of being, and you're headed somewhere else, where you can be someone else. Space in between a world's various bits and pieces. I'm increasingly convinced that the single thing that separates a great open world from a good one is space. What's on the radio? What's happening on the other side of the car window? See what you think. This is more about the little stuff that, in a series like GTA, is often incredibly important. This isn't a piece about the big stuff - we'll have a piece up next week on things like theme, satire, and stuff like that. Cor, there's a new GTA on the way! And while we're going to learn a bit more about it in December when the trailer drops for GTA 6 drops, we still wanted to get together and share a few thoughts about things we hope the new game includes. Between getting back to the office and socializing in real to having plans, having a thoroughly booked-out schedule feels. With the engineering brilliance demonstrated in the iMac G5, Apple could build an extremely small machine and price it in the $500-$700 range. I would call this machine the Xmac, which fits perfectly in the naming scheme with Xserve, Xserver RAID, Xsan, and Xgrid. A lot of people already have LCDs or monitors that work perfectly fine (ugly as they might be). I believe Apple is leaving a lot of money on the table by not having a stand-alone consumer/busines computer without LCD. He loved the look and styling of the iMac, but price is a sticking point. That said, a friend is in the market for a new computer, and I mentioned the new iMac. There is no premium price in the iMac compared to PC box builders all-in-one machines, look at the Gateway Profile Apple pricing the iMac extremely competively. I have seen this proposal time and again, here is the latest at The Mac Night Owlįirst off, I love the new iMac and intend to get one as soon as all my old PC components are sold on eBay. I am not the only one, I am starting to get questions from users on this too. Quick recap: I patched everything up, and the GDI+ Detection Tool still tells me I am vulnerable, but I am left with no instructions on how to fix it. I have nothing left to do because I am on Windows XP. Office Update tells me I have no patches to install, so I go back to the GDI+ Security Update page and I read it again. Step 1 on the page above is to run Office Update How to Update Your Computer with the JPEG Processing (GDI+) Security Update When you click on the "Yes" button, the user expects they will see what they have to do to cleanup the latest security mess. I just ran this tool and told my system is vulnerable, here is a UI fragment: On, there is an open letter to Microsoft about how poor an implementation the GDI+ detection tool his. Windows XP SP2 fixes the hole in Windows, but it seems like the afflicted DLL, gdiplus.dll, is everywhere. MS04-028 is perhaps one of the worst security vulnerabilites discovered in the recent past. I am not saying Apple is doomed if they don't get into the low-end market with a more PC-like headless machine, but I don't see them achieveing significant share gains without it. A large percentage of growth in the PC market is coming from the low-end, and though a $1299 iMac is close, sub-$1000 is the magic number. Apple needs to maintain existing app develeopers and expand the pool. If Apple can get their share above 5%, the positive feedback loop of share driving software development decision efforts will guarantee the continued existance of the Mac platform. Growing share diffuses one of the main criticisms from PC partisans, and it's also a defensive strategy as Linux desktop share grows. The point of a low cost Mac is not to maintain profit margins, those will have to be sacrified somewhat, but to grow market share at the expense of profits. I expand on that a bit in the comment, reproduced here, that I posted on AppleMatters in response to how unlikely they view the "headless" Mac:īut I disagree with your conclusions. I recently posted why I Apple needs a sub-$1000 Mac. Chris Seibold on AppleMatters recently wrote why we won't see a "headless" Mac. |
